Muse Entertainment’s Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder, has been judged as having the best screenplay and won a Leo Award for screenwriter Katherine Wagner. Muse is very proud of its more than 150 television awards won to date since its founding in 1989.

Muse Entertainment’s highly rated, summer special, A Castle of our Own, premiered on Hallmark’s annual “Summer Nights” programming event in June 2026. Shot near Victoria on beautiful Vancouver Island, the romance stars Brennan Elliott and Erica Carra and was directed by Kay Shioma Metchie.

Carra plays an overworked architect who takes an unexpected summer trip to a coastal town and enters a sandcastle contest. The local contractor (Elliott) helps her build the sandcastle, rediscover joy, reconnect with her daughter –  and find love she never saw coming.

Muse Entertainment’s most sinister movie is airing on the Lifetime channel in the US on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 8 p.m. ET.  Killer Clown stars Sara Paxon (as Elizabeth) with Hamza Haq and David Cubitt.

The thriller is loosely based on true events. Decades after witnessing her mother’s brutal murder at the hands of the ‘Killer Clown,’ Elizabeth remains haunted by the crime that shattered her childhood. When she begins investigating the long-unsolved cold case, she becomes the target of a terrifying copycat stalker.

Muse’s Jesse Prupas and Chris Wade are the executive producers, Annie Bradley is the director and EP, and Katie Boland is the screenwriter.

Muse Entertainment today announced the appointment of Jennifer Harkness as Senior Vice President, Global Development and Partnerships.
Based in the company’s Los Angeles office, Harkness will focus on the development of premium documentary and unscripted content while cultivating strategic partnerships with Canadian, U.S., and international broadcasters, streamers, and platforms. She will work closely with Courtney Dobbins, Vice President, Unscripted and Documentary, with both executives reporting to Jonas Prupas, Managing Director, Muse Entertainment Enterprises.
The appointment underscores Muse’s ambition to scale its premium factual slate internationally and deepen relationships with key commissioning partners at a time of sustained demand for high-end documentary storytelling.
“Jennifer is one of the most respected creative executives in premium factual television,” said Prupas. “Her track record in developing award-winning, globally resonant series, combined with her deep relationships across the international marketplace, makes her uniquely positioned to help Muse expand its documentary and unscripted ambitions worldwide. This role reflects where we see the greatest opportunity for growth.”

Harkness joins Muse from Blue Ant Studios, where she served as Senior Vice President, Development and Production, overseeing development and executive producing a slate of premium documentary and factual series for leading global broadcasters and platforms. Her recent credits include The Great Art Fraud (BBC Two), Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies (Peacock), Ghosting (CBC/ Peacock), Prince Andrew: Banished (Peacock), Evil by Design: Surviving Peter Nygård (CBC / Starz), Epstein’s Shadow: Ghislaine Maxwell (Peacock / Sky), and the award-winning Comedy Punks: The Kids in the Hall (Amazon).
Previously, Harkness held senior roles at Cream Productions, where she served as SVP, Sales and Development, USA, and developed and executive produced The Story of Late Night for CNN. She also served as Head of Development, Factual Entertainment at Temple Street Productions, contributing to series including Recipe to Riches and Cover Me Canada, among others.

Sullivan’s Crossing, Season 4 has begun principal photography in Halifax, N.S.  The series airs on CTV, Crave, The CW, and Netflix.

Season 3 was CTV’s most-watched Canadian scripted series of the 2024-25 broadcast year, according to media data company Numeris.

The series follows neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan (Kohan), who finds herself in legal trouble and returns to her hometown in rural Nova Scotia to reconnect with her estranged father Sully Sullivan (Scott Patterson), while figuring out her relationship with Cal (Murray).

Season 4 is executive produced by Reel World Management and Muse Entertainment in association with Bell Media’s CTV, The CW, and Fremantle. The series is distributed internationally by Fremantle. The show’s creator Roma Roth is joined this year by Producers Alex Jordan, Marc Tetreault, and Jason Levangie. Executive Producers are Roma Roth, Chris Perry, Sherry White, Michela Di Mondo, Hilary Martin, and Aren Prupas.

Muse Entertainment has signed an exclusive deal with Toronto-based journalist Rachel Browne to work with Muse’s unscripted team to develop and produce premium doc series for the Canadian and international markets.

“Rachel is one of Canada’s most respected investigative journalists, whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with for the past five years, I’m thrilled to be bringing her further into the fold,” says Jonas Prupas, managing director, Muse Ontario.

Muse and Browne have collaborated on several doc features and series in both development and production, with Browne contributing to current productions such as recently announced Running Smoke for CBC. 

Browne’s work has been recognized by the Canadian Association of Journalists, the Digital Publishing Awards, the National Magazine Awards, and more. She has worked with Muse and other production companies in developing and producing documentary features and series including Witness for CBC, The Dark Side of Comedy for VICE TV, and Water is the New Fire for The Weather Network. Browne is also a Contributing Writer at The Walrus magazine where she publishes longform investigations. Previously, Browne was a senior reporter at VICE, where she produced the documentaries Rat Park and Steel Town Down.

“I am excited to continue working with Muse in bringing compelling and dynamic projects to life,” says Browne.

Lifetime’s Adds True Crime Movies ‘Amish Affair,’ ‘Sister Wife Murder’ (hollywoodreporter.com)

Our latest romantic comedy Shifting Gears is premiering on Saturday, March 23, 2024 on the Hallmark Channel. The film is about car restoration… and love.

To save her father’s auto garage, talented Detroit-based mechanic Jess (Katherine Barrell) decides to compete in a classic car restoration show, only to discover that her ex-boyfriend and rival mechanic Luke (Tyler Hynes) is also competing.

The movie will be airing on international networks this spring.

Never Too Late to Celebrate is in the running for a 2024 Canadian Screen Award as Best TV Movie. In addition, Sherry Miller, also from Never Too Late to Celebrate and Niall Matter, who stars in another Muse TV movie, Family History Mysteries: Buried Past, are both nominated for a Canadian Screen Award in the category of Best Performer in a TV Movie.

Muse Entertainment’s series Best Food Forward for Apple TV won a Children and Family Emmy Award for Casting at a ceremony in Los Angeles in December 2023.

Love Drama offers romance, mystery, thrillers and holiday-themed programming, with more than 300 hours of shows available from Muse Entertainment’s library.

The channel is now available in Canada on LG Channels and Pluto TV, and in the UK on Virgin Media and Netgem TV. Love Drama will roll out across additional platforms and territories around the world in 2024.

On February 4, 2023, Gwen Shamblin: Starving for Salvation will make its debut on Lifetime channel in the US. Produced by Muse Entertainment, and starring Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing), Gwen Shamblin: Starving for Salvation is directed by John L’Ecuyer from a script by Gregory Small and Richard Blaney. Executive producers are Nancy Bennett and Jesse Prupas.

The film follows controversial religious leader and Christian diet guru Gwen Shamblin Lara, who founded the Remnant Fellowship Church and the Weigh Down Workshop. As her church grew across the US and she accumulated power and money, she demanded that church members alienate themselves from anyone who was not a member, banished those that became overweight, threatened legal action against dissenters and advocated for strict punishment of those who failed to follow the church’s tenets. Her reign came to an end in May 2021 when the plane she was on crashed shortly after takeoff, killing her, her husband, their son-in-law and four other church leaders.

Swindler Seduction, a thriller based on real events, will air on Lifetime on Saturday, October 22, 2022, 8pm and on the Canadian network CTV Life on October 23, 8pm. The movie, starring Colton Haynes and Gabrielle Graham and produced by Muse Entertainment, will also air on many international cable and broadcast networks soon.

Muse Entertainment’s Best Foot Forward for Apple TV+ was praised by many media outlets including The New York Times for how the production prioritized disability representation on both sides of the camera. We did a global search to find Logan Marmino who could authentically portray the lead role of Josh having the same limb difference.  We hired five writers with disabilities making up half the writers’ room. Forty cast and crew members self-identified as having a disability.  Muse Entertainment, alongside Apple TV, created a safe and accessible set with Kiah Amara serving as our Production Accessibility Coordinator.

In the 10-episode series, Josh goes from homeschool to public school, eager to experience everything middle school has to offer! But along the way, Josh also faces a brand-new set of challenges, including how to get an entire school of kids to see past his prosthetic leg, and get to know him for who he is. With the support of his parents and the help of his best friends, Kyle and Gabriella, Josh learns, laughs, and grows, excited to come back every day for more.

Muse Entertainment’s Swindler Seduction will premiere October 22, 2022 on the Lifetime channel in the US. It stars Colton Haynes as the swindler Steve Johnson who quickly sweeps Louisa, played by Gabrielle Graham, off her feet while on a sales trip to Chicago. She falls in love with him and his glamorous world, only to realize that Steve is weaving a web of lies.

Muse Entertainment’s factual editors, Eamonn O’Connor and Nick Taylor, won a CCE Award for best editing of the docu-series For Heaven’s Sake from Canadian Cinema Editors.
